Actor Aaron Paul Selling Fabulous Midcentury Modern Home in Idaho

The Emmy winner, who’s known for his work on AMC’s “Breaking Bad” and his current role on HBO’s “Westworld,” referenced the residence in a recent Instagram post. Paul, an Idaho native, said that while it “pains” him to sell the place, he feels “blessed to have lived inside of this home for so many years.”

Built in 1959, the Frank Lloyd Wright–inspired home measures 2,171 square feet and has two bedrooms.

“The home was designed by world-renowned midcentury architect Art Troutner,” says listing agent Piers Lamb, of Re/Max Capital City.

Beyond the picture-perfect design described as “very minimalistic” by the agent, the indoor swimming pool is an impressive feature. And there’s a reason the pool fits right in.

“The site for the home is very unique as it was located on geothermal mineral water, so the whole house is heated with geothermal water, including the indoor swimming pool,” says Lamb.

As you enter the house, the spectacular pool is the focal point surrounded by living spaces. The open floor plan features 54 French windows and doors to coax in as much natural light as possible from every angle of the home.

The layout was designed to ensure “one can always see and feel the intended creativity that went into the design of this amazing home,” the listing says.

“There are different views from every window where you can always see the evergreens and different trees, the sky, the pool, and the stunning architecture,” Lamb says. “When the sun goes in and out of the clouds, the light just dances inside the house.”

There are a number of high-end finishes, including honey-tinted woods and Oakley stone. Locally known as the Klein House, the unique and historically significant design has attracted art and architecture enthusiasts.

“The house was originally designed for Edith Miller-Klein, who was the first woman in Idaho to pass the bar exam and later became an active member of the state Legislature,” he says.

The agent notes that the home has impressed a wide variety of folks, and not just fans of Atomic Age architecture.

“We have had a lot of people who have seen it, who are not necessarily midcentury modern enthusiasts but leave here amazed, while others who are extremely interested in midcentury modern just leave with their jaws dropped,” he says. “It’s a stunning property.”
